Art on a postcard | Artists Open Call

Art in Whitefield wishes you were here for their latest exhibition.

This is an open call for all artists based in the UK to submit to ‘Art on a Postcard’.

The submission can be on any theme and in any medium as long as it is standard postcard size. The exhibition will be curated by professional artists from Art in Whitefield. The exhibition will be held in the thriving heart of Whitefield’s cultural centre – the Besses o’ th’ Barn Brass Band headquarters. Besses Brass Band was founded in 1818 and is one of the world’s most historic and celebrated brass bands. 

Submission details

  • Artists can submit up to 3 works
  • Submissions are free ( the artist is responsible for postage costs)
  • Submissions close 3rd August 2026 1pm
  • Any medium inclusive of the written word, drawing, digital and traditional fine art mediums are acceptable ( no AI generated content will be accepted)
  • Art in Whitefield curators will contact you by 14th August to advise you if you have been shortlisted for the exhibition ( we aim to include all submissions)
  • Art in Whitefield reserve the right to decline any work

How to submit your work

  • Please post your work to: Art In Whitefield, 76 Irwell Street, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 1LR.
  • Arrangements can be made for work to be dropped off. A date & location will be provided for this soon.
  • Write your name and social media handles on the reverse of your submission.
  • Include on a separate sheet, your contact details so that Art in Whitefield can arrange payment or the return of unsold pieces. 

About the exhibition

The exhibition will be held at Besses o’th’ Barn Band -2 Moss Lane, Whitefield, M45 6HG – Dates to be confirmed soon
All work will be for sale at £30 each, with £20 for the artist, the remainder will be split between Besses Band and Art in Whitefield.

An opening night event will be held on the 27th August with limited tickets released nearer to the launch. Follow Art in Whitefield on social for Eventbrite ticket release date.
